Tryon Street: Full Swing

Grab your sledgehammer because this week demo mode is in full swing... literally.

We started by tearing out all of the cabinetry in the kitchen, which -- if you have never done before -- is some pretty backbreaking work... definitely got my workout in for the week!

Once we removed all the cabinets and appliances, you could hardly tell the room was once a kitchen. But, that's the goal: strip everything down to the studs.

Here's a refresher of what the kitchen looked like before...

Kitchen pre demo.

...in the middle of demo...

Kitchen mid demo.

... and after!

Kitchen post demo.

Crazy right? As you can tell, we also removed the drywall on the back wall and tore out the wood paneling on both of the side walls.

If you remember the plans I laid out for this space, both walls on each side of the back wall will eventually be coming down completely. This will allow us to lengthen the kitchen and create a nice flow from living room to kitchen to dining room.

Check back soon for some video footage from our big demo day in Tryon Street: Ep. 2! If you haven't seen the first episode I've linked it here.
